When we first met, Daniel introduced himself and I instantly broke out into song. The classic and elegant celtic tune, “Danny Boy,” of course. This was followed by an awkward chuckle from Daniel and the conversation pretty much ended there. Needless to say, this interaction laid the groundwork for a deep and lasting relationship. Lucky for us we are both persistent! Anyone who knows me understands I often sing unprompted, so I suppose it is fitting that this was the moment our lives started together.

We met in school, fell in love, and moved across the country to continue our lives in a new city. We bought a house and filled it with dogs, plants (thanks to me), hiking gear, and a lot of bikes (thanks to Daniel). We are different, but we truly make each other the best we can be. He likes chocolate, and I like gummy bears. With that very major difference aside, and time to convince Daniel that gummy bears are superior, we still make it work.

We are best friends, and will be to the end.
